Hello from Hutchinson, Kansas

It has been awhile since I have updated our blog due to the fact it has been hard to find wireless connections.
We had a great time in Charlottesville, VA, with Jim and Cindy. We visited some historical places and had good times with family.
On June 10 we flew from Dulles Airport in Washington, D.C. back to Dallas and spent the night with Ann. The next day we drove to Amarillo and spent the night at Cal Farley's Boys Ranch. That is a very interesting place.
On June 12th we drove to LaJunta, Colorado. We did some looking for a house in case of eventual retirement. We found one with about 11 acres by Rocky Ford which we like pretty well. We had a good time with friends in Colorado, and we spent last Sunday afternoon driving in the mountains. June 15th was my 56th spiritual birthday. Roger and I were both saved that day in 1952. It was Father's Day that year as well.
Monday we drove to Hutchinson, Kansas, and have been doing more house hunting. We haven't found anything we feel the Lord really wants us to do anyting about at this time. Yesterday we took a tour of the Hutchinson Salt Mine Museum 650 feet below the earth's surface. That was fascinating. Today we went to Cheney Lake and spent some time on the beach, then ate at Carriage Crossing, in the Amish community of Yoder. We plan to be in Hutchinson until Thursday, and then go to the Dallas area for a family reunion on Don's mother's side of the family.
We plan to return home about July 2nd. We have had a busy month seeing many family and friends and much beauty.

Lexington and Big Island, Virginia

Thursday was Jameson Graber's graduation from Washington and Lee University. He had the special privilege of being the valedictorian. He had thought he would be second, so was pleasantly surprised when called on Tuesday and told that he was Valedictorian. The graduation was outside with 95 degree temperatures. We sat under a shade tree so wasn't too bad.
Cindy and Jim, Ann and Jameson, Don and I then met and had a late lunch at Ruby Tuesdays. Following that we drove to Big Island, VA, to the home of Dick and Judy Kremer, friends from the Aurora, Nebr. days. They have a lovely new home here in the valley near the James River. The Blue Ridge Mountains are beautiful.
Today we drove to the Natural Bridge. It is fantastic. Thomas Jefferson purchased it from the king of England for the sum of $2.40. George Washington's initials are carved in the rock from when he surveyed the land. We drove through the Blue Ridge Parkway and saw many beautiful sights.
This morning Judy Kremer felt like her blood pressure was not right so she took it and I took it. It was fairly low. So she called her doctor, he wanted to see her at 1:00. So we went there, and he wanted to admit her to the hospital. About 3:30 or 4:00 the rest of us continued our journey. Her daughter is a nurse, and she was admitted to a room on her unit, so said she would sit with her this afternoon. Judy is to have a stress test tomorrow.
Tomorrow Don and I will go to Charlottesville to visit Jim and Cindy and the rest of the family there. We will stay till Tues. a.m. when we fly back to Dallas.

Travels

On Wednesday, May 28, Don and I left by car to drive to the Dallas area. We spent the night with Ann Graber of Arlington. The next day we flew to Charlotte, NC. We having been staying with Harry and Helen Isaac who serve at the Wycliffe Center known as JAARS. We have spent time with them as well as other friends, John and Mary Rupp. We have visited the new Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, and also drove to Lansford State Park and hiked about 1 1/2 miles to see the spider lilies in bloom in the river.
Tomorrow, June 3rd, we will pick up a rental car and drive to Lynchburg, VA, to visit our friends, Chris and Lori Gassler. We will spend the night there, and then drive the next morning to Lexington, VA to attend the baccalaureate for Jameson Graber at Washington and Lee University.
Our travels will take us to Charlottesville, VA, flying back to Dallas on June, 10.
We will then drive to Colorado and Hutchinson, Ks. We will then plan to attend Don's family reunion of his mother's side in Dallas. We plan to return home on July 2nd. We appreciate your prayers for our travels.
