Mexico visit

Don and I along with the Bob Olsens, the Mark Olsens, and 3 Bible Institute students went to Mexico for ministry. We took poncho's that were made by one of the winter volunteer ladies. Many women and children attended these meetings.

Returning to Mexico - Jan. 2010

Don and I returned to Nuevo Progreso, Mexico, today. We had a whole car load of things to take to them. They have been so cold these last few weeks. They were thrilled to receive blankets, stocking caps, and knit scarves made by our winter volunteers. We had many itmes of food and clothing also. They are always so appreciative. We passed out about 200 candy canes as well. When we returned home from Mexico we found 5 more large bags of things for Mexico on our doorstep, so I will have lots more sorting to do this week.

Kansas City before Christmas

On Dec. 14 I had a Dr's appointment in Kansas City. We went up the evening before and spent the evening with Teresa. These are scenes from Union Station, Crown Center, and the Plaza.

Christmas with Roger's Family

On Christmas day Don and I ate with Roger's family. All six of their children and spouses, all 23 grandchildren, and a few extras including us made 41. Due to the large number we ate in the church basement.

Verdell and Marian Johnson Visit (Roberta's Cousin)

Verdell and Marian had flown their plane to New Mexico to visit their son's family for Christmas. Due to bad weather they were not able to return to NW Iowa, so flew from Texas to Hutchinson on Monday, Dec. 28. They were not able to leave until Thursday morning when the skies were clear. We had a good time of visiting and eating together. On Monday, Dec. 28 we ate at Carriage Crossing for my free birthday meal ( a day late since they are closed on Sundays.) Ann, Ben, and Jameson, Don and I, Roger and Mary, and Verdell and Marian enjoyed a good meal together. On Tuesday evening Verdell and Marian, Roger and Mary, and Don and I ate at Montana Mike's and had a great steak. Wed. we ate at Gambino's and Thursday morning at Village Inn for breakfast before Verdell and Marian flew out.

Malia's First Pets

Phil and Julie stopped by our house before leaving Hutchinson after Christmas. Malia has been wanting a pet, so I gave her 2 little hermit crabs I brought along from S. Texas. They are Bunny and Sparkle.
