Our New Home - Moving in - John's fall

This morning we moved our things into our house without incident. We had 4 people help - Don, my brother Roger, my brother John, and Don Johnson. For a short while we had Rich McCullum help. The picture shows moving the piano in. We all went out for a wonderful barbeque lunch and had one more task to accomplish. We needed to get the 2 car dollies out of the driveway and hooked up to the trucks. Don almost fell getting one car dolly down the drive way. Then John moved the other one. The ramps hit the pavement and pulled the tongue down which John had a hold of. It threw him to the pavement and he landed on his face. It broke his glasses, cut a gash on his forehead. So the rest of the afternoon was spent getting his glasses fixed and then the E.R. The cat-scan showed a fracture of the bone above his eye. He had stiches in his forehead. Please pray for him as he flies back to Indianapolis tomorrow, Tuesday.

We Arrived in Hutcinson, KS - Much snow

Thank you all for your prayers. It was a looong trip, but we arried safely in Hutchinson about 5:00 p.m. Sunday. We left Edinburg Saturday morning and drove to Waco. It was very windy and hard driving. I rode with John in the truck and Don drove the motor home. Both were towing cars. The Lord protected us from any mishaps. There was a blizzard in Hutchinson on Fri. and Saturday leaving 20 inches of snow. My brother, Roger, and his wife, Mary, were kind enough to go to our house before we arrived and cleaned out our driveway. It took them 2 hours with the snow blower and shovels.
We plan to unload our things on Monday and then slowly get settled. We don't have beds yet so will not stay at our house for a few days until ours arrive that we ordered. Pray with us as we get settled.

Getting Ready for a Move

At Christmas time when we were in Kansas visiting family we continued our search for a home for our eventual retirement. We thought we had purchased a country home in Colorado last summer, but due to a legal battle over water rights for the drinking water in the home, the closing never came about. So when we were in Hutchinson we made an offer on a home there. The closing was in February.
Our plan is to move most of our household things to Kansas, but return here to RGBI in late August or early September. We plan to make this move on Saturday, March 28. John, Roberta's brother plans to fly to McAllen from Indianapolis on Wed. We will pack a rental truck on Friday, and be on our way Saturday. It is a 900 mile trip so will take 2 days. We plan to get both of our cars there so John will drive for us.
We would appreciate your prayers for us in this endeavor. We will continue as Associate Staff at RGBI for 6 months of the year. Eventually we will probably be Winter Volunteers. But we felt it was time for this move.

Ministry in Nuevo Progreso, MX with Students and the Olsen families

In the next several entries there are pictures of our recent trip into Mexico for ministry. We were pleased to have Winter Volunteers, Bob and Katie Olsen, and Mark and Dianne Olsen accompany us. Students Grisel, Cinthia, and Virgilio ministered.

To Nuevo Progreso with Students and the Olsens

A week ago Bob and Katie Olsen, Mark and Dianne Olsen, and 3 students accompanied us in a school van for ministry in Nuevo Progreso, Mexico. It seems to be a pretty safe little tourist town on the border. With news of all the violence in other border towns, we are thankful for the protection the Lord gives each time we go to Mexico for ministry.
It will take several entries for the pictures that I took, but there are many I would like to include.

Wedding of Daniel Cofer and Kate Nachtigal

Don and I made a quick trip to Kansas last week. While there we attended the funeral of Harvey Rempel, closed on the purchase of a home in Hutchinson, and then attended the wedding of Kate and Daniel. Kate is Don's youngest granddaughter. Cindy, Teresa, Ann, and Karen were all in attendance, so we had some good family time together.
Just a word of explanation - Kate's dog was the ring bearer. Daniel and Kate will make their home in Hutchinson.
