Change of Plans

Earlier I had entered a blog about our plans of buying a home in Colorado. That has been delayed over and over and still has not gone to court to resolve the water rights issue. In December the closing was extended until March. Sooo, while we were in Hutchinson over the Christmas holidays we made an offer on a home there. Our offer was accepted, the house has been inspected, and the owners have moved out. We can close any day now.

We had planned on an acreage in the country, but now have a home in town to move to.
We plan to go to Hutchinson the end of March and stay until September. We will still be Associate Staff at RGBI in south Texas. We will be here from September to March with some time back in Hutchinson at Christmastime. We will see how that arrangement works out.

I did not take many pictures of this house but will include a few. I did not get a good picture of the outside.

Don's 75th Birthday January 24th

Don's birthday was on Saturday, the 24th. There were many other activities scheduled that day here at RGBI so we had a party on Thursday. We invited all the men that are winter volunteers, as well as the maintenance crew and a few others. We met in the actiity room and served cake, ice cream, cookies, brownies, and nuts of many kinds. Ted Paske shared a devotional and prayed. Many men expressed what Don had meant to them over the years. There were at least 50 in attendance.
The pictures are mostly of the party, and one of him on Saturday, on his actual birthday. On Saturday we attended a concert at Bibleville, and later took Larry and Ruth Windle with us to eat at Logan's Roadhouse. It was a good evening together.

Roberta's Birthday, Visiting Estel, Teresa Visiting

For Roberta's birhtday dinner, Shirely and Cliff, Teresa, & Karen Staib accompanied us to Carriage Crossing for lunch. We then went to the Kansas Cosmosphere to watch the I-Max film, Happy Feet.
We visited Estel in Buhler and had lunch with her there.
Teresa came to visit for a few days after Christmas.

Christmas Visit from Fire Department

More pictures of Christmas time. Greg Lanker was on duty at the Fire Department on Christmas day, but stopped by with the fire truck long enough to take a few pictures.

Christmas in Hutchinson, Kansas

We spent Christmas and New Years in Hutchinson with family and friends. Included will be pictures of Christmas, Roberta's birthday, and New Years activities. We visited Estel Neir, Roberta's step-mother who will be 97 in February. Teresa, Don's daughter, came to Hutchinson to visit us for several days.
Yes, it was cold compared to S. Texas. We left weather in the mid 80's to arrive to temperatures in the single digits. Brrr
