Saturday Don and I along with students, Grisel and Cynthia, from the Dominican Republic, went to Mexico to minister. The lines at the bridge to cross over into Mexico were extremely long. There was a strike in Mexico that had closed 3 other bridges so all were crossing at this one.
We finally crossed and had meetings at two different places. At our first place they were so happy to announce that they had prepared Menudo for us. If you don't know what that is, it is cow's stomach. That did not excite me too much! I have tried it and can hardly get it down. Don, Grisel, and Cynthia all ate a little. I politely told them I could not eat anything. Only Cynthia liked this delicacy. Don and Grisel ate a little. They all sit around and watch us eat - none of them eat at the same time as us. So it is very obvious if we pick at the food.
There were many, many kids and women at our meetings. Next time we plan to have separate meetings with the women.
It is always a blessing to be able to go and minister to these neighbors just across the border.
