Flowers/Memorial Day

Today we visited the Darlow cemetary to visit the graves of Don's parents. Cliff and Shirley were there, too. I took some pictures of the flowers around our house before we left.

Spring Flowers in Hutchinson

I love the fragrance of lilacs, lily-of-the-valley, peonies, roses. I have been able to enjoy all of these and more in the past six weeks here in Kansas. Our iris are blooming now, and many roses are about to open up. Our peonies are a little late but starting to bloom. Here are some of our iris in bloom.

Family of Roger and Mary Neir at Bill Tucker's Funeral

Scenes from Bill Tucker's Funeral 5/19/09

My brother is married to Mary Tucker Neir. For the past 2 1/2 years her parents have been living with them due to health problems. On Thursday, May 14, her father went home to be with his Lord and Savior.
The pictures from the funeral are largely of Roger and Mary's family - their 6 children and 23 grandchildren. The six pall bearers were sons and sons-in law of Roger and Mary. The red socks that they wore were their Grandpa Tucker's which he wore every Christmas. They each wore a pair in his memory.
The smaller group is Grandma Tucker with her 6 grandchildren. The large group includes Roger and Mary, their 6 children, spouses, and 23 grandchildren.

Hanging the border and Crown molding

Progress on re-decorating - Almost finished

I will show more before and after pictures soon, but have some pictures of the process. Taking off wall-paper, faux painting, putting up border and some close up pictures of border and crown molding. Don has done all the crown molding - he did a great job!

Visitors from South Africa - Lex and Annie DeWit

We were surprised by a visit from long time missionary friends from Kimberely, South Africa. He is native to S.Africa, she is transplanted from Kansas/Nebraska. What a pleasant surprise - we had a good visit.

Out-door pictures at our new house

The barn is our storage shed. Notice the cow in the "pasture." This is as close as I am getting to being in the country. There are a few dandelions among the flowers. We have had so much rain the weeds are thriving!

Great Nieces and Nephew visit

Today a few of the 23 grandkids of my brother and sister-in-law stopped by. They "rode" the "motorcycle", had fun on our electric beds, etc. They are Brooklyn, Meryn, Meredith, and Eli. What fun!
