We have been too busy to take pictures lately. Our redecorating project is coming along, but slowly. Don's sister is helping us on her days off which are Wednesday and Saturday. The painting is done in the living room, hall, and dining/kitchen area, but there is trim work to do, border to put up etc. She needs to finish the Venitian plaster yet, too. When that is all done we can finish unpacking.
We have also been trying to do yard work. I have failed to get pictures of the flowers that are blooming now - violets, hyacinth, lilacs are starting to bloom, and yes the dandelions.
Last Thursday we went to Kansas City so I could have an appointment with Dr. Reeves, a prolo therapist. Prolo Therapy is an alternative to surgery for treating pain. I went because of the meniscus and arthritis problem with my knee. After the hour of evaluation, he told me that I need total body treatment due to the chronic pain I have which has messed up the nerve impulses and how they translate pain. He said my kind of problem is very challenging and difficult to work with. I thought he was going to send us home to reschedule when he could treat whole body, not just one area. I asked if he were going to start that day. He had a hour till his next patient so he said he would begin on my low back and legs and feet. After giving me sedation, but still keeping me awake, he began giving me injections along nerve pathways. I had about 270 injections of a dextrose solution which should cause regeneration of nerves, cartilage, etc. The needles were long, and it was rather painful. The next day I was in bed most of the day.
I have another treatment scheduled for June 22 for whole body treatment. He is not making any promises - fibromyalgia is hard to treat. What responds best are athletic injuries, etc. but he has had success with long time chronic pain as well. I would appreciate prayer in this area. I have significant pain all of the time and it makes is so difficult to do house work, yard work etc. and there is so much of it to do.
