Today, Mom would have been 103 years old. She was born on a farm near Marcus, Iowa, and at the age of 8 years moved by train with her family to Wausau, Nebraska. A finer mother could not have been found. She was always patient and understanding, teaching us early the character traits that we needed for life. She passed away in 1984, so has spent many birthdays in Heaven. We so look forward to being reunited with her some day.
We are slowly getting unpacked, clothes washed, groceries bought etc. So much mail to go through. I went to see the Dr. today. He was very concerned about my hacky cough and swollen legs. He sent me to a lab for a test to see if I had blood clots. I haven't heard back, so assume all is o.k. I am to double up on diuretic for the next 3 days. The swelling has not gone down much. He said to call right away if my cough get worse. I think it is just from allergies, however.

What a lovely, fitting tribute to your mother and to see how her legacy lives on as you minister at Rio Grande and in your recent trip to Peru. Let me know what you learn from your medical test results.
